Fountain with healing properties
The fountain dates from the 16th century and is linked to the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Clarté in the town centre. People sometimes travelled more than 200 km to come here to treat eye problems or to prevent blindness.
In the 19th century, the municipality decided to build a washhouse on the same site to save the washerwomen long journeys. The roof was added at the beginning of the 20th century, leaving only the water basin uncovered to collect rainwater.
A few metres to the north is the washhouse and the Saint-Pierre fountain where many families came to collect drinking water at the beginning of the 20th century.
