A chapel in the image of fairy tales
The imposing tower-porch of the Saint-Nicodème chapel can be seen from afar, lost in the countryside which it dominates from its 46-metre height. The simplicity of the interior of the building, bordering on the bare, boldly matches the richness of the exterior, flamboyant Gothic with a touch of Renaissance. At the foot of the massive tower, topped by a granite spire, a Renaissance door opens onto a staircase of 110 steps that led to the top.
Its fountains
In front of it, in the enclosure, a sacred fountain dating from 1608 in the Gothic style flows into three basins framed by sculpted pedestals and voussoirs and topped by niches that have long since been stripped of the statues of the three saints they housed: St Nicodemus, St Gamaliel and St Abibon. Another fountain, more recent (1790), precedes it. It is dedicated to St Cornély, protector of horned animals.
The pardon is celebrated on the 1st Sunday of August
