From lock to lock
28 locks allow navigation between Pontivy and Hennebont. These locks, built in the 19th century, are still very useful for the many pleasure boats. The lock keeper moves from lock to lock to allow the boats to continue their journey through the Blavet valley. They are often named after the villages they pass through: the Couarde lock, Saint-Nicolas lock or Gamblen lock.
The lock houses are waiting for you with great ideas for discovery. In Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux, you can hire electric boats or bicycles for a ride along the water.
