From lock to lock
A total of 28 locks allow boats to travel between Pontivy and Hennebont. Built in the 19th century, these locks remain essential for the many pleasure boats exploring the Blavet Valley. The lock keeper moves from lock to lock to ensure boats can continue their journey smoothly. Many locks are named after the villages they pass through, such as La Couarde Lock, Saint-Nicolas Lock, and Gamblen Lock.
The lock houses offer a variety of activities and discoveries. At Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux, you can rent electric boats or bicycles for a scenic ride along the river.
