The tourist train of the Blavet valley

Hop aboard the Napoleon Express all summer long !

Travel through the stunning landscapes of the Blavet Valley aboard an authentic 1950s train, lovingly restored by the enthusiasts of the Chemins de Fer du Centre Bretagne association. Along the way, discover an unexpected side of Morbihan—rich in history, preserved nature, and expansive woodlands.

This unique 30 km journey runs between Pontivy and Auray, with stops at Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux, Saint-Rivalain, Quistinic and Lambel-Camors. Each stop offers delightful discoveries and scenic views to enjoy.

The train runs on Wednesdays and Sundays from July to August 2026 ( tickets can be purchased at the tourist office during this period).

There are plenty of possibilities depending on your chosen stops and whether you prefer a round trip or a one-way journey (for example, returning by bike along the towpath!). Almost anything is possible—you can tailor your experience to suit your preferences.

Saint-Nicolas Stop

Enjoy a variety of activities in a lush, green setting, and relax on the terraces overlooking the Blavet.

Fun and Discovery:

  • Anne Mésia’s Investigation: An interactive family game that lets you explore Saint-Nicolas in about 1.5 hours. Free
  • Treasure Hunt: Offered by the tourist office, a fun way to discover the village with your family. Free
  • Nautical Base: Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards for hire. Reservation recommended: +33 (0)2 97 25 04 27
  • L'écluserie : Electric boats (no licence required) and classic or electric bikes available to rent. Drinks and snacks are also available.

  • Pedal boat Rental
  • L’Art dans les Chapelles: A festival of contemporary art in religious heritage sites. Just a short walk from Saint-Nicolas: visit the Chapel of the Trinité Castennec. Free entry or guided visits from 2 PM to 7 PM.

40 minutes by bike from Saint-Nicolas along the towpath:

Several hiking routes also start from the village, offering a chance to explore the surrounding countryside on foot.
Enjoy the restaurants and bars in the village. Don’t hesitate to stop by the tourist office for information. If you plan to dine on-site, we recommend making a reservation !

Saint-Rivalain

Discover a place steeped in history—a former port and railway station that was bustling a century ago. The stop is at the train station, where you can take a short break before continuing your journey.

Accessible by footpath, the Saint-Adrien Chapel hosts the Art in Chapels exhibition. Self-guided or guided tours are available from 2 PM to 7 PM.
