A dolmen in an enchanting setting
In the forest of Floranges, the Roh-Du dolmen, 4th millennium BC, is a listed monument. It was used by several superimposed civilizations, Bronze Age, Iron Age etc. Fragments of pottery from the 17th or 18th century have been found on site.
This corridor dolmen, whose tumulus can still be seen, was built at the end of the Neolithic period. Nearby is another remnant with a missing roof slab.
It is difficult to imagine today, but originally the two megaliths must have been located in an open landscape with very few trees and probably already cultivated.
